the wrist guards are pretty good, but mine did start ripping at the bottom after two or three days of snow boarding. Granted, i am a pretty big guy, but i think they should have been more durable.

Brand new, in the package, never been worn K2 Wrist Guards. Wrist guards really help minimize or prevent the damage to your hands and wrists should you fall accidentally. These are a comfortable, breathable version from one of the top brands in the industry. The inside has a terry-cloth like material--not scratchy or cheap. This wrist guard protects the bottom of your hands and wrist with a tough nylon splint to disperse the force of a fall AND a built-in splint on the top to keep your hand from bending back in a severe fall. These also have an added bonus--a velco strip on both hands to attach something small like keys or a watch so you can have it handy.

It is important to note that these are WOMEN'S wrist guards!! Maybe the name 'Alexis' should have tipped me off, but another listing said "Alexis - women's wrist guards." Anyway, it was my bad, and the seller was very easy to work with re: return & refund. And they looked like really nice guards -- FOR A GIRL! :)

K2 Athena Women's In-Line Skates Review

K2 Athena Women's In-Line Skates
Average Reviews:

I really like this pair of roller blades for the comfort of the boot, the color, and of course, the function. My only complaint it that the brake is not the best I've ever had. It takes a lot of force to slow down, let alone stop completely, and for a person skating in an area that has fairly steep hills, it is not a good deal for me if I gain too much speed and fly through an intersection.
This skate is a good beginner skate, and is great if you're going to be skating in a park or something with a level sidewalk, but for people people who plan to use it in an area with hills, it isn't the best choice.

K2 Mach 90 Mens X-Training Inline Skates Review

K2 Mach 90 Mens X-Training Inline Skates
Average Reviews:

I have not found a better skate for under 200 buckss. This 90mm model is ideal if you do a lot of skating for exercise. Smoother than 84mm models. Replacement wheels, such as Rollerblade 90mm Wheel Kit with SG9 Bearings are affordable.
I avoid the K2 models with mixed wheel sizes. They have little plastic offsets that like to fall out when you clean & rotate your wheels, and wheel rotation is messy.
Very comfortable.
I had the similar K2 "Moto" and nearly identical "Moto 90" models before recently getting the Mach 90. The padding and everything have held up well up for 2000+ miles.
Speedlace tip: If you skate a lot, add Hi Tex cordlocks (#194 toothed wheel style -- available at REI), tie laces into a loop, and cut off the ends. Super fast lace-up and adjustment...Works great!
Sizing: is accurate.
Pricing: Yearly models launch in November (usually color change only). Shop around to get them for under 200, or last year's model for under 160. If amazon doesn't have your size, google it. Then google "coupon {sitename where you found it}".

Great skate. These are comfortable and fast. I recomend
them for advanced beginer to advanced fitness skater. These are by no means racing skates. They are fast out of the box. When it comes time to change the bearings I will go with the ilq-9 pro insted of the classic. It's only 10 dollers difference in price for a better bearing. All in all great skate, comfortable, perfect for my neeeds as a recreational skater that does not want to be on slow skates. Two thumbs up.

K2 Radical 100 Unisex Training Skate Review

K2 Radical 100 Unisex Training Skate
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I would consider myself an above average skater, but less than average fitness wise.
I love these skates, I purchased them last year, the first two skates took some getting used to due to the shorter boot, but after that I was flying.
I did take the time to heat mold the boots, which I probably shouldn't have done. Ever since the heat molding the right boot causes problems with my ankle bone, the strap presses against it in an odd way.
I will probably buy the 2008 model and sell my 2007 models as I think the 2k8s have a diffent upper boot/strap setup.
Great skates for someone who has skated for quite a while and looking to take the next step. Probably not good for a beginner who doesn't have much ankle strength.

The skate includes all the features of its Radical 90 cousin, including a marathon cuff, a standard lace, and two ratcheting buckles, but adds K2's Four Hundred Longmount Frame--designed for racers and skaters who like to go fast--and extra-large 100 mm Star Grip poured wheels and ILQ-9 bearings. The end result is a skate that burns up the pavement while still responding beautifully to turns and other maneuvers. Whether you're going on a long training skate, competing in a marathon, or sprinting to the finish, the Radical 100 makes an ideal choice. The Radical 100, which comes in a variety of sizes (6.0 to 13.0), is backed by a one-year warranty.
About K2 In February of 1961 the first pair of fiberglass skis was produced by brothers Bill and Don Kirschner in their Vashon Island, Washington shop. The Kirschners, avid skiers, built fiberglass animal cages for medical use and were convinced that their process could build a ski that was lighter, stronger, and more lively than the wood and metal skis of the day. They really just wanted to build some cool skis for themselves and their friends. And the rest, as they say, is history. Much has changed since those early days on sleepy Vashon Island, but one thing has not: K2 is still a bunch of adrenaline junkies who just want to make some cool stuff for themselves and their friends.

These are tight and too small for a grown man. They cut into my legs and arms. The so-called extra large set seem like they were made for a 10 year old. Now that I think of it, I should just give them to my 10 year old.
Haven't crashed yet to test out the protection, but they don't seem too promising in that department...

I bought these skates because my daughter had them on her birthday list. When they arrived I was initially impressed with the apparent durability and toughness built into the skates. Secondly, I liked the soft boot design because it reflected a lot of thought concerning comfort while using them. Since my daughter has used the skates, she has been thoroughly satisfied. Not only are the skates very functional, but they are fashionable as well. The transaction was flawless and fast. I would definitely purchase from this company again!

The skates, which come in a variety of sizes (4.0 to 11.0), are backed by a one-year warranty.

K2 Rita Womens Inline Skates Review

K2 Rita Womens Inline Skates

Rita are exactly the shells I had in mind! I had researched a new pair of women's inline skates for 2 weeks. I used to own Rollerblades and was looking for skates of same brand, but did not manage to find a good fit for my feet, nor a nice-looking model. The shell in the old ones hurt quite a bit, so when I learned about K2's Rita soft shell, I decided to give it a try. Well, bless these skates! When I got them, I liked them immediately. They fit perfectly and are totally comfortable when skating. Unless you are a professional skater, looking for super-professional level skates, these will meet your expectations and with a low budget. When choosing the size, keep in mind that you will need an extra point. For ex. if you are a size 7 for US shoes, choose a size 8 for the skates. I read this in a conversion chart and helped me select the right size. One more thing I enjoy, is the slick style, which is also elegant and feminine comparing to other brands.

Blending a dash of affordability with style and performance, the K2 Rita Softboot-style women's inline skate looks and feels like a regular shoe and is a great choice for new skaters looking to refine their technique. K2's comfortable, stable Softboot construction features the most breathable uppers, supportive cuffs, and best fit known to any inline skate. It's also outfitted with a stability cuff, composite frame and 80mm wheels with ABEC-5 bearings.
Stability Cuff The Stability cuff offers fitness skaters confidence and control. The anatomical design is contoured to match your ankle profile for better balance and support.
Composite Frame This balanced composite frame is designed for maneuverability and stability. This frame absorbs road vibration and lowers the skater's center of gravity. A composite frame is very forgiving and makes the learning process of skating a little easier.

I really loved these skates, but when I had to flip the wheels due to wearout, I couldn't put the back wheel back on. I never had this problem before with K2 skates. However, Amazon's customer service is outstanding and they allowed me to return the skates (even though the return date had expired a week ago) and sent me a new replacement. I do not plan on flipping the back wheel though for fear of the same problem.[[ASIN:B001GAPQIY K2 Maia Womens Inline Skates]

Right out of the box these skates look really good and well built. I never skated on wheels bigger than 80mm before. My first time out with these skates they really felt very difficult to turn compared to 80mm skates. At fist I thought I was going to sell my new Radical Pros the next day they really felt difficult to turn because of the larger wheels. After adjusting the laces a few times these skates got much better. I took them to a local indoor roller rink and skated four 2 hours these Radical Pros really started to feel great! The larger wheels are much faster the the 80mm skates. My ankels really hurt compared to my old inline skates. I guess because of the smaller boot. Im sure I will get adjusted to this new boot over the next few skating secessions. Along with getting more comfortable and faster with my Radical Pros.
I really like these skates and would recommend them only to an intermediate or advanced skater. They are very fast and take a bit of practice to turn and stop. But the speed and power the bigger wheels make, are well worth the sacrifice over the nimble control smaller wheels have.

FYI Im coming from a background skating really hard agressive boots--so the whole soft boot thing (even if its made of plastic water bottles) took a lot of getting used to. At first I could barely skate on these things, now I cruise around quite quickly, albeit with less total control/turning power and thrust.
The plus's: recycled/sustainable materials--really sleek looking too I might add
Cruisin on bamboo is quite a thrill
Sadly: the bamboo chips easily, the laces have no quick lace system, the plastic buckle is a hassle to click into place and the sewn on D ring for the velcro stabilizer strap never stays in place, constantly warping the velcro strap when I go to tighten my boot (but this has made lacing up a much more zen like experience, the bamboo helps too) One of the biggest problems is the wheels they put out with this skate--Ive had this pair less than a month, just about to rotate them when I find my wrenches--but the wheels are so degraded its unbelievable. I would be going through 12 pairs a year, but Ill just put some better ones on next time.
I do like the big handy straps on it, to carry and pull my foot into the boot--always nice
Other than that--not sure if Amazon advertised this, but some site said it would include an extra shorter axle to take off the back brake--I didnt find one..so I had to cut off the brake pad so I could still use the longer axle in back.
For my purposes (zipping around quickly, while having the ability to be a little rougher/have more fun/maneuverability) I would have been better off with a crossover boot (half agro/half fitness--a hardboot with nice big wheels and not grind plate). Sadly I went the eco friendly route, which only served to make myself feel better for a slight bit, then feel harshly burned for paying over price for a hyped up product (as most green marketing goes...) All in all its not a bad skate if you really want to just ride around a track/trail...but its too delicate for real road riding.

Like the other review stated, the skates can be painful at first (people with wide feet need to look into more of a custom speed skate or normal rec skates), the carbon fiber base wraps around most of your heel and has a hard rubbery plastic that comes up on the inside of the skate. This type of skate is supposed to be an relatively tight fit for 2 reasons: first speed for long distance runs a sloppy fit will give more blisters, second is control and support a loose boot or overly padded boot allows too much play with you feet and ankles taking away control. I have not tried adjusting the frames position as of yet but I found that the position it is works for me. These did feel a little weird at first but i am used to either my k2 backyard bobs or my 12 year old oxygen skates, however after about 15 min of use and it was better and felt real good after an hour. Next is the socks you use, they need to be relatively thin and i would highly recommend getting compression socks, a lot like running socks but ones that above the ankle.
