Huffy Boys Pro Thunder 20 - Inch Bike Review

The photo doesn't show it, but the handle bars are spread really wide, which forces your kid to have his arms up and hands spread apart in a not-natural way. This makes it really hard to control the bike. Bad design. I'm going to see if I can buy a normal pair of handle bars because I've had the bike too long to return it. Wish I never bought it.

Unless you are mechanically handy, do not buy a bike in a box. Also, the wrong pedals were sent in this box apparently they were 1/2" instead of 3/8" threads. I found this out when I went to pay $40 to have this bike assembled. We like the bike OK, but it cost quite a bit to have assembled and the pedals were wrong.

Razor Sharp Freestly Bike (20-Inch Wheels) Review

Razor Sharp Freestly Bike (20-Inch Wheels)

I bought two of these Razor bikes for my nephews for Christmas. They had to wait until spring to ride them because of the winter weather, but really loved all the cool tricks they could do on these bikes. They were the only kids in the neighborhood to have the Razors. Well, not anymore, seems the bikes were so nice that even the local bike theives had to have them and they have already been stolen from their yard. They were really sharp looking bikes and at $99.00 each (at Xmas), and free shipping, I felt like I was getting a steal, guess I was right. Next time I buy a chain for them too.

Roadmaster Tracker Boy's Bike (20-Inch Wheels) Review

My son didn't get to ride this much as it was stolen from our (fenced and locked gate) yard less than a week after getting it. I guess it make someone jealous (they did not steal the other 2 bikes, which were also brand new).
But, I can tell you that my son did thoroughly enjoy his bike. It went together easily (mom put it together!) And while it was a step up in size for him, he felt it was a good bike for wheelies... your son will want to know that.
I will buy this bike again next paycheck. He liked it enough to want to have an exact replacement.

Mongoose Gavel Boy's Freestyle Bike (20-Inch Wheels) Review

We bought this bike for our 11 year old son, even though the box states from 6-11 years old. I think it would be a bit large for a 6 year old. This bike seems to be more appropriate for 9-15 year olds. The bike has a great graphic design on the middle section. It can hold 200 pounds. I think this is a great buy for a preteen and teenagers. It also had the extra bars for the ride-ons.

Strong and fast, this 20-inch BMX bike by Mongoose is sure to keep up with any active boy whether he's tackling the trails or cruising around the neighborhood. The Gavel features a sleek, silver alloy frame and tough, 48-spoke alloy wheels that perform reliably, even on wet surfaces. Other freestyle features include four axle pegs, "knee-saver" handlebars, and an SST handlebar rotor for handlebar spinning tricks like the pros do. The bike's low, step-over height allows for easy mounting and dismounting. The alloy brakes and levers provide reliable stopping power, while the alloy pedals are light and provide a large contact area. A two-tone seat adds to the bike's trim and sporty styling.
About Mongoose In 1974, BMX Products, Inc., later to be known as Mongoose Bicycles, launched from a humble garage. The first of its kind, the BMX bicycle was named after bicycle motocross and was designed to fit the needs of the rough-and-tumble dirt-racing pastime that took its toll on wheels and bicycles. The heavy-duty, one-piece cast-aluminum Mongoose Motomag wheel was soon born, and it was the first competition-ready BMX bicycle available. Skip Hess, while in Australia pursuing his motor sports passion, came into contact with a strange and unusual cat-size animal--the mongoose. Known for its passive nature while unprovoked, yet vicious and aggressive enough to kill a threatening Cobra twice its size, the Mongoose impressed Hess, who quickly registered the Mongoose trademark for his new bicycle racing frame.
The Expert BMX bicycle model, which is still a cornerstone of the Mongoose BMX line today, was introduced in 1980. Shortly after, Mongoose captured the first ever ABA National #1 Cruiser Title. Previously known for the 20-inch bicycle, this title signaled the re-direction of Mongoose bicycles to larger-wheeled, adult-sized models. Several years later, Mongoose continues to dominate the cruiser racing circuit with six National No. 1 Cruiser titles, leading to the introduction of adult-sized Mongoose all-terrain bicycles (ATBs).
In 1992, Mongoose pioneered the full-suspension market with the introduction of the Amplifier. This design is still the most-copied suspension design in the market. Several year later, Mongoose launched the Newman adult bicycle frame, which is proven to be 15% stronger than any other bike frame in the market. The design, while functionally sound, also raised eyebrows because of its distinctive look.
In the next few years, Mongoose increased its marketing focus to dominate the bicycle industry, and more important, extend beyond it. The Mongoose brand marketing initiative makes more than 100 million impressions. Mongoose’s brand awareness increased by over 130% in 1999 and solidifies the No. 2 market share position in units and dollars. Mongoose was acquired by Pacific Cycle, LLC, and continues to grow and prosper with more than 40 models of BMX, mountain, trail, freestyle, jumping, comfort, road, and cyclocross bikes.
