When we bought him a cheaper snowboarding helmet on sale at the local sports store, he did not want to wear it, objecting to the look. This one cost twice as much, but to me it is worth it if he will keep it on his head! The fit is slightly larger than the Pro-tec helmet(of the same size) he wears for skating, although this is not a problem because he wears a beanie underneath. The look is lower profile (closer to the head) than the less expensive helmets we looked at, the construction seems of good quality, and we have been very happy in general with the other Pro-tec helmets we have bought our kids for skating and biking.
