(More customer reviews)What can you say - its 2" x 6" coarse one side and fine on the other. Its core is a flattened steel plate nickel plated with the diamond crystals bonded to each side. Because it's steel and not plastic, as long as you hold the tool you're sharpening consistently you will get a straight edge.
It's nice having both the rough and fine grit on the same sharpener. And the only practical way to sharpen modern stainless high-hardness knife steel is with diamond.
My only complaint is that the DMT sharpeners like this used to come in a nice leather holder (which I used for final stropping by hand). This comes in standard plastic shell packaging.
Regarding the other review - This is 2" by 6" as clearly stated - Wishing it were bigger isn't a problem with the sharpener - It's a buyer problem. But it is big enough that if you were to sharpen a sword, for example - You hold the sword still and move the sharpener - Not vice versa.
