(More customer reviews)I don't want to totally bash this product. The idea is good; the price is cheap; just decide if you willing to handle it's limitations.
1) You need a pump to blow it up- no biggie;
2) 12 foot diameter is fine for small children, i.e., pre-school-early elementary;
3) You really need flat ground, free from debris;
4) It tears easily, like a blow-up swimming pool but worse. With ice, rocks, and skates, it's probably going to happen as it did with us on the first day.
So, be extra careful with handling the 'rink' if you purchase.
My recommendation:
After the tear, what I did- since the kiddoes didn't want to be disappointed, and with the cold spell coming on- was to dig in my garage and take some 2X4X12's, lay them on their sides, simply nail the ends together, cover it with a large, heavy duty tarp- which overhung the boards by a foot or so- tucking the excess tarp under the boards, and filled the thing with water(~3+inches). After 2-3 days of below freezing, frickin', predicted, cold weather it was solid, and ready to go and as my wife said, "quite cute". Everyone had a blast! For extra effect, put out some chairs for 'spectators' and some tiki torches if you got or a firelog in the outdoor stove. Have fun!
