(More customer reviews)The selling point was "Multilayered boot construction to ensure ankle stability". The boot shaft was very stiff but the problem was that the shaft diameter was so large the the boys' ankles flopped around inside the stiff boot shaft. Rather than return them I took some heavy duty woodworking clamps and compressed the top of the boot shaft to where it would contact the boys' ankles. Then the skates were usable. The overall quality of the materials was ok . I do not know if the average person would want to do this. I would say buy something different. I was somewhat stupid in that I ordered two more pair before we tryed on the first two. I guess I can modify them also.
